It’s week forty three of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. I’m posting early today from the beautiful Crown Towers in Melbourne (yes again!!!!) because tonight I’m going to be watching a very important game that requires my undivided attention. It’s State Of Origin (SOO) time peeps and tonight is the decider, with both Queensland and NSW bagging one game a piece so far in the series. I can’t be in Brisbane to see it live and given wearing a jersey to work to support the Blues would not go down too well in the Melbourne office I had to come up with a more subtle way to show my support. That’s if you can call head to toe blue subtle! Well, subtlety has never really been my forte anyway so why start now? To make it a little more interesting this week I have hand picked my co-host Mica. Mica is a Queenslander and right now that means she is the opposition. SOO is billed as “State against State, Mate against Mate” and while only two states are involved, somehow Queensland has garnered the lions share of the support from the Australian states not involved. While I’m in blue, Mica will be rocking Maroon in support of the cane toads. Yes, that really is what the Queensland team is known as, not that I should talk because the NSW team are the cockroaches. #BleedBlue #GoNSW #AlwaysTheUnderdog Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #42 – Glam Grey
It’s week forty two of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. I’m a big believer that grey is the new black. It’s classy, elegant, stylish and everyone can pull it off. I’ve been a little bit obsessed with grey of late and today I’m in it head to toe. Literally! This is the first time that I have worn this coat and I love, love, love it now that Marisa has worked her magic and practically remade it given the smallest size was way too big. The boots on the other hand not so much. I didn’t last the entire day! I’m posting a little early today, during my lunch break in fact, given I’m heading to Darling Harbour tonight with The Enabler (and of course the mini enablers) for a girls night out at Cool Yule. Lucky this coat is super warm as there will be outdoor ice skating involved and a vino or two. Excited much! Can’t wait! I’ll try and add a few onsite pics to this post a little later if I get a chance. Hopefully we will all still be upright on our skates! Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #41 – Pink Ballerina
It’s week forty one of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. Well Monday was the winter solstice so the days are officially getting longer but they sure are getting colder as we inch towards Spring, in fact Sunday was the coldest day we have had in two years! I couldn’t wait to get my jacket back on as I was snapping these pics. Today I’m mixing high end and high street. Check out my custom made Pradas (with my initials!). Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #40 – Silver Slicker
It’s week forty of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. It’s 4.30am and I’m wondering who on earth would get up at this time of morning if they don’t have to? I’m only up early because I’m about to jump in a cab to the airport. No don’t get excited for me, I’m not going anywhere good, just Melbourne for work again for the next three days. If you are a regular reader you may have have noticed that today’s Wednesday Pants are not my usual Calvin’s. I have an offsite in Melbourne today with a dress code of “tidy denim” and I get so few opportunities to wear jeans in the office that I couldn’t let this pass me by, but in keeping with the spirit of The Wednesday Pants I’m still wearing white pants. I’m hoping you will allow me this little deviation. Given the weather is predicted to be wet and cold down there today, I’m dressing in layers and I have a few extras tucked in my luggage just in case! A good rain coat is a must and I just love this silver slicker from Rains! I also have a function tonight which coincides with State Of Origin II so I’m doing a little change up between events and adding some baby blue to show my state pride. #GoTheBlues #BleedBlue. The Wednesday Pants #39 – Green & Pink
It’s week thirty nine of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. It’s just dawned on me that today marks the 3/4 point in this series. With only thirteen weeks to go I’m not sure yet whether I’m glad or sad about that! Wow it’s been a busy week both at work and on the social front, so much so that I didn’t find the time to post on Friday and Sunday as I normally do, but I MADE time for The Wednesday Pants of course. Well, when I say I made time, I mean I grabbed Mr SFH on the public holiday Monday 15 minutes before he ran out the door to snap some pics for me. I’m breaking all the fashion rules this week about appropriate winter colours and instead I’ve opted for lime green and pastel pink. The bright midday sun did little to bring out the lime green, pastel pink and soft greys but I’m not going to complain about finally having some winter sunshine after a pretty miserable week. Hopefully you get a better idea of the colours from the close ups, which were mostly selfies with my iPhone after he had left. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do right? The Wednesday Pants #38 – Berrylicious
It’s week thirty eight of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. Well it is officially winter and don’t we just know it! I feel it was a minor miracle that I survived this morning’s train trip without suffering hypothermia or frostbite. I can’t say I’m exactly thrilled with the big chill but I’m rugged up in a beautiful berry coat designed to keep the bone chilling winds at bay. One of the hardest things about winter for a blogger is the short days make getting photos done with natural light a logistical nightmare when you when you leave the house at 7.30am and don’t get back until 7.30pm, especially when you factor in the additional complication of having a shift working photographer. Today’s were done at 7am as he was coming home from a night shift and I was just about to walk out the door. Sleep always seems to be the thing that is sacrificed to get it done. Cie La Vie! On a side note, we are celebrating a very special birthday in the house and I couldn’t resist sharing a few pics from the archives to mark the occasion. Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #37 – Leather & Lace
It’s week Thirty Seven of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. It’s an early post today because I will be on a plane back home tonight, which meant photos and planning was done on Sunday at home. The biggest issue with picking an outfit so far in advance is that it’s so hard to predict what the weather is going to do. Today I am volunteering in our local community with my work colleagues. My company very generously allows each and every one of our 42,000+ employees around the globe two paid volunteer days every year to lend a helping hand in our local communities. That’s 672,000+ hours if every one does their bit. So because I’m not in the office today I’m dressing a little more casually. I’ve always loved mixing textures and today I’m pairing ultra feminine soft lace with leather. I just hope I am going to be warm enough because my colleagues told me yesterday that it will be freezing in the venue for today’s activity. Hmmmm … would have been good to know this on Sunday when I planned my outfit! Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #36 – Blue Baby
It’s week thirty six of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. I want to talk about shoes. Today I took three pairs of shoes to work with me! The pair of navy pumps pictured here, my blue Ugg boots as transit shoes to keep frostbite at bay during the commute and a pair of thongs because I had a mani/pedi at lunchtime and obvs couldn’t slip back into my pumps straight away without doing any material damage to my paintwork. Sometimes life is just way to complicated! Surely I am not the only one who has these dilemmas! Anyway read on for all the details about this weeks outfit …
