Hunter Valley NSW: Simply Breathtakingly

December 13, 2015

Long Weekend in the Hunter Valley: Vines at Tyrrell's Estate
I have just spend the most awesome weekend with three of my very favourite ladies visiting The Hunter Valley, a spectacularly beautiful part of NSW about 3 hours drive north of Sydney. We were predominantly here to attend the Cold Chisel Last Stand Concert at the Hope Estate on Saturday night. The Hunter Valley is wine country and some of Australia’s very best wine come from the vines here and it is exported all over the world. We did our fair share of sampling the local drop at some excellent cellar doors but we also found time for some fine (and not so fine!) dining, supporting the local economy (i.e. shopping) and interacting with the wildlife. Let me tell you all about it …

Perth WA: Most Isolated City On Earth!

November 27, 2015

Perth Pixabay

If you follow me on social media, you will know that I was privileged to visit Perth, Western Australia last week for a brief stint. This is my fifth visit to Perth and all have been work trips, but I have managed to get out and about a little when in the west, particularly when I extended one of my stays over an adjoining weekend and my Mum flew over to explore with me. Perth is touted as one the most isolated cities in the world and with a population of just under two million in many respects it is like a big country town, but it has much to offer visitors whether it be for a pit stop like me or a longer stay. If you read my last post you will know that I lost my phone recently and while I do now have a replacement, the vast majority of my photos from Perth were lost with it. Luckily, I did save a handful before I lost it which was more good luck than good management because I never do this. I’m sharing my favourite things to do plus where to stay, eat and shop, when you visit Perth. Read on for all the details …

Fash Packing by Sydney Fashion Hunter: Crown Towers Melbourne Deluxe Villa Review

Regular readers will know that I visit Melbourne frequently for business, in fact, I’m down there so often I am practically a local (read about my ultimate girls weekend here). Well, maybe not, but I have been enough times (roughly 100!) to have well and truly decided on my favourite place to stay. Last visit I was lucky enough to experience the opulent luxury of a Crown Towers Melbourne Deluxe Villa. Crown Towers caters to the discerning traveler and regardless of whether you are visiting for business or leisure, I just know you will love this hotel as much as I do. Read on for all the details …

Where To Shop In Patong Thailand

September 13, 2015

Sydney Fashion Hunter - Shopping In Patong

Everyone likes to bring a souvenir or two home from their travels and every destination has unique offerings when it comes to shopping. This is my third trip to Thailand and I’m back in Phuket. Phuket is one of Thailand’s largest islands and each area has it’s own unique appeal. Patong is widely considered Phuket’s party destination which draws young backpackers in droves, but there is plenty to appeal to families and couples as well. When I deciding where to stay in Phuket, I always chose either Patong, Kata or Karon. Shopping in Patong is dominated by merchants hawking their wares and their enthusiasm to make a sale can be a little bit daunting for a first timer. My guide will help to steer you through the maze and hopefully bag a bargain in the process. Read on for all the details …

One Day In Bangkok Thailand: 14 Crazy Hours

September 11, 2015

Bangkok Pixabay

A friend and I were given a leave pass as our hubby’s valiantly agreed to look after her kids back in Phuket while we had a girls day out. We decided that the best way to spend the day would be a quick trip to Bangkok!!! Who does that right? Yeah we do! That’s just how we roll. It meant that we were up at 3.30am and our heads didn’t hit the pillow again until well after midnight, so we really made the most of our one day in Bangkok. Read on for all the details …

Dining In Phuket Thailand: 5 Of The Best Cheap Eats

September 6, 2015

Dining In Phuket

Eating is one of life’s great pleasures and one of the things I really look forward to while on holiday, so I take choosing each meal very seriously. There is nothing worse than being disappointed with a bad meal as you only have a finite number of meals while on the ground. South East Asia is an assault on your senses. The sights, the smells and of course the tastes, so indulging a little while we are here was always going to be on the cards. Dining in Phuket can mean anything from street carts to five star dining and everything in between. We are staying in Patong and according to Trip Advisor there are 428 restaurants to choose from but there are no doubt many more that have not been reviewed and plenty in the surrounding areas. We were pretty happy with all our choices. Read on for all the details …

5 Options For Dining In Koh Phi Phi Thailand

September 4, 2015

Dining in Koh Phi Phi

Koh Phi Phi is a tiny speck of an island in the middle of the Andaman Sea so don’t expect to be spoiled for choice here. The island is divided by a fairly steep hill so once people have chosen which side to stay on they generally stick to that area. We are staying at the Cabana Phi Phi Hotel so we have been dining in the Tonsai area during our two days here. While Michelin stars may not abound you can still find some tasty treats while dining in Koh Phi Phi. Read on for all the details …
