Fringed Bag 3 Ways: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 22

March 2, 2016

Sydney Fashion Hunter: Fresh Fashion Forum #23 - Fringed Bag Three Ways

This week you are getting three looks for the price of one! I’ve teamed up with a couple of other Aussie bloggers to each style a fabulous fringed bag. Inspired by the movie The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants, I thought it would be fun to send an item on a road trip across Australia and collaborate with my fellow bloggers. The India cross body bag from Sash & Belle is perfect as it is versatile enough for each of us to style in our own unique way. Between the three of us we have the three eastern Australian states of NSW, Victoria and Queensland covered. If you were to drive between our homes you would cover nearly 2000klm’s and it would take almost 20 hours but our traveling bag did it a little easier with the assistance of Australia Post. White Strapless Top: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 21

February 24, 2016

White Strapless Top

I’m back home in Sydney but I’m bringing you one last outfit post from Bali. The day I took these photos was blisteringly hot. I’m talking eye ball melting, about to spontaneously combust hot. Don’t get me wrong, I’m used to the heat in Sydney, in fact today was 39c but for some reason this day just sapped the life out of me. I had no inclination to drag myself out of the pool (see pic below) and even less inclination to put on clothes, so when it came time to head to lunch this white strapless top paired with short shorts was probably the least amount of clothing I could get away with wearing and still remain fit to be seen in public. As an added bonus, the loose silhouette is great at hiding the bulging belly I’ve developed after remorselessly eating my way through all these fabulous restaurants while I have been in Bali. I slid on a blingly pair of shoes and some colourful jewellery to make it look like I made some sort of effort, but I don’t think I was fooling anyone. Sometimes style just has to be sacrificed for comfort and I’m all about keeping it real on the blog. Read on for all the details …

Blue Sundress In Bali: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 20

February 17, 2016

Blue Sundress In Bali: Legian Beach

Hello from Bali! If you’ve been a reader for a while, you will know that this is not my first rodeo. In fact, this is my fourth visit to Bali, three of which have been in the last three years. We obviously love it here and there is plenty to keep the punters coming back year after year, not least of which is the spectacular weather. This is a flying visit and we only have six days on the ground. When I was here last time I wrote about my experiences shopping in Bali and a sundress that I spotted in the window of a store that always seemed to be closed when I walked past. As luck would have it, when I wandered past on Monday the store was open and not only did I manage to bag this delightful blue sundress for a mere $18 but I also added a white flowing top to my cart. Summer Maxi Skirt: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 19

February 10, 2016

Billabong Boheme Skirt, The Limited Ivory Embellished Halter

Beach chic is one of my favourite looks and I love spending time by the ocean. February is officially the last month of summer and I’m already dreading the mercury dropping. Summer in Sydney (and many parts of Australia) generally means soaring temperatures, high humidity and violent thunderstorms, sometimes all in the same day!  I was recently chatting (well emailing, but you know what I mean!) with my blogging buddy Adriele from Style Assisted and we got to talking about how different our weather is at this time of year. Adriele lives in Kansas, where temps often dip below freezing in February and the extreme differences in our climates seemed like the perfect opportunity to showcase both winter and summer styling all in one post.  Read on for all the details …

Black & White Is Alright: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 18

February 3, 2016

Witchery Black Pointelle Tank, Mavi Alice White Denim Skirt, Tambourine Mountain

Hello again! Can you believe it’s February? January just flew by! I may have mentioned once or twice already that The Hubs and I spent a long weekend in Surfers Paradise on the beautiful Queensland Gold Coast recently. We took lots of photos and I really wanted to share a few with you because the views from Mount Tambourine were just gorgeous, but I almost ditched all of these from a ‘style’ perspective. My outfit is very simple which perfectly suited the environment, but I was very disappointed that I didn’t have the accessories with me. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Havaiana’s as much as the next Aussie, (if fact I have 11 pairs!) but if I had a choice of pretty much anything else I would have worn them. Anyway, in the end I decided to use the photos because the setting was just too pretty but I took a couple of shots at home to show you what I would have like to have worn. I am much happier with the ‘after’ look, which just goes to prove how much impact a few little changes can have. Read on for all the details …

Longline Cardigan: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 17

January 27, 2016

FFF#17 Sitting
Hello! It’s Fresh Fashion Forum time again. I’ve just returned home from a long weekend on the Gold Coast with The Hubs in honour of my birthday, which I celebrated yesterday. Lucky for me, my birthday falls on Australia Day which means I never have to work on my big day. I took full advantage of the Tuesday public holiday by booking annual leave on the Friday and Monday and turning it into a 5 day weekend. Today’s location is Cedar Creek Falls, Mount Tambourine in the Gold Coast hinterland. I have been to Surfers Paradise many, many time but I have never ventured inland until now. Cedar Creek Falls is absolutely stunning with beautiful falls cascading into natural pools which scream out to be swum in. This sort of location calls for a very casual outfit and I chose my new Forever New grey longline cardigan. Read on for all the details …

Monochrome Maxi: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 16

January 20, 2016

FFF#16 - Title

I had a whole different post planned today but my iPhone had other ideas. I spent a fabulous weekend in Melbourne with The Enabler (more about that on the blog later!) and we took a bunch of photos on location in the CBD in front of a beautiful historic building but yesterday (and literally in the middle of a phone call!) my phone decided to factory reset itself. I have lost everything … and I mean everything! I’m planning on spending hours on the phone tomorrow to the help desk trying to get it sorted. Fun day! Anyhoo, since I couldn’t bring you those photos I thought I would share a couple of the items I bought while I was away. I had a very successful shopping spree. I don’t call her The Enabler for nothing! Read on for all the details …

Double Leopard: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 15

January 13, 2016

FFF#15 Sitting

Hold on to your hats readers because I’m breaking another fashion rule this week! Apparently the experts have ALL agreed that double leopard is the ultimate fashion faux pas, but I’m having none of it! I’ve never really been a big fan of following “the rules”, fashion or otherwise. Just ask my Mum! I’m sure she had an absolute ball dealing with my teenage self. I can remember the very first time she tried to give me a curfew. I was 14 (almost 15!) and heading out on the town with a bunch of people from my first employer (McDonald’s if you must know!). Suffice to say there was way too much fun to be had and I did not make it home by the allotted hour. The punishment was not as bad as I feared and I’ve been pretty much doing whatever I’ve wanted ever since. Damn the consequences became my new motto and it still holds true with me today (within reason!). So when it comes to breaking fashion rules, I have to wonder what is holding us back from taking a chance. There are no real consequences. What’s the worst that can happen? People might point and stare? Blow it! Who cares what they think anyway. They are probably way to busy following all the rules to have any fun and who needs that! Read on for all the details …
