This week I’m partnering with SheIn to bring you a fabulous trans-seasonal item; the sleeveless trench. The weather has been really funny in Sydney lately and we have gone from the hottest April day on record (36c) to just 18c the following day. This makes dressing for the climate particularly challenging. This is where layers come in. Layer up in the morning, strip of at midday and reverse it as the sun dips below the horizon. Effortless! Read on for all the details …
SheIn Sleeveless Trench
I’ve seen a lot of sleeveless trench coats around of late and while I love the look I had always dismissed them. Why? Because frankly a coat without sleeves didn’t make a lot of sense to me. I feel the cold. I mean I really feel the cold, so if I’m putting on a coat I want it to give me some warmth as well as just looking good. But I haven’t been able to shake the slight massive obsession I have had with them, I’m mean they are just so damn cute. So when the opportunity was presented to me to partner with SheIn I just knew this trench was going straight in my bag. When it arrived I knew I had made the right choice. The fabric is wonderful and the waterfall drapes are perfect. It comes with a belt and you certainly could wear it the traditional way, but it detracts from my favorite feature which is the way the coat falls at the front, so I chose to cinch the belt at the back instead. When deciding what to wear with it I went through a few options before settling on the combination featured here. My original thought was head to toe black, but the details became lost. I knew that I wanted to keep the palette dark though, so my burgundy 74AMK burgundy wet look skinnies were just what I was after. I tried a few tops before settling on my go-to tank. Long sleeves were my first choice but that was quickly dismissed and a few others with higher necklines hit the floor as well. I know I only wore my Nine West gladiators two weeks ago and I did try a whole heap of other options (mostly ankle boots) but I didn’t like anything near as much as these so you are just going to have to forgive me the repetition. I would have really loved to have featured a sequined snakeskin clutch with this but I don’t have one so my Chanel boy bag was a good alternative. They don’t call it a classic for nothing! I love The Hubs’ Nixon watch and borrow it occasionally when I want to make an impact with my time piece. I am really going to need to get one of my own soon so I can adjust it to fit me!

Great outfit, I love the black trench with the burgundy skinnies! I had exactly the same reservations about sleeveless trenches – a coat without sleeves just didn’t make sense to me but I’ve completely changed my mind! I went shopping yesterday thinking I might buy one but I didn’t come across any, I guess I’ll have to do a little online shopping and hope the husband’s out when the parcel arrives!

Great look! I really like the look, but have also been hesitant to get a sleeveless trench because I wasn’t sure how often I would wear it. But I think it may actually be a great piece for our climate…
Fabulous shoes & pants by the way!

Agree! I was so hesitant to start as well and took me a while to get the styling right. Will be playing around with this a few different ways to make sure I get lots of wears in Autumn before the weather cools down too much!
