I’m in Melbourne again for work today and I have quite a bit of travel coming up this month so life is going to be hectic. Business travel might sound glamourous, but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it can be down right exhausting at times, but I guess someone has to do it. I tend to feature what I’ve worn to work on FFF, but today I’m showing you my weekend style for something different. I wore this outfit for a casual dinner with family on Sunday night where I got to see my gorgeous six week old niece. There is nothing quite like a dose of baby love to put everything back into perspective. It would be remiss of me to post today without acknowledging the significance of Remembrance Day. In Australia and many other parts of the world, we engage in one minute’s silence at the eleventh minute of the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. This minute of silence allows us to reflect on the supreme sacrifices our service men and women have made defending our country. I love the Australian way of life and for all those that have defended our culture, values and freedom I am humbled and truly grateful. We will remember them. Lest we forget. Melbourne Cup: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 5
After being absent from the blog few weeks, it’s good to be back! Apologies that the post is late tonight but the storms in Sydney are playing havoc with my internet connection and it’s a miracle I got this up at all! The break allowed me to recharge the batteries and return with a new enthusiasm. For those living on the other side of the globe, it may have escaped your attention that yesterday was Melbourne Cup day, and while I am in Sydney, this truly is the race that stops a nation! While there certainly is some interest in the 24 horses that compete in the race, there is just as much interest on the fashions on the field. Unlike those down south who get a public holiday for cup day, those of us in Sydney have to work. That said, I did have a cup function in the afternoon at The Ivy so I had to dress for both events without too much trouble changing over and my Zara jacket created the perfect transition. This is basically the one day of the year that I always wear a dress to work! Read on for all the details …
Black Pencil Skirt: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 4
Wow it’s Wednesday again! This week has whizzed by! You may have noticed that I’m sporting a new (much shorter!) do this week. I was a very pampered guest at Toni and Guy Cronulla on the weekend and I’m loving my shorter locks. I promise I’ll share all the details on Friday but for now it’s on to this weeks Fresh Fashion Forum. If you are a regular visitor I’m guessing you are somewhat shocked by the fact that I’m not wearing pants today. I shared with you over a year ago that I only own one skirt, a classic black pencil skirt. Nothing has changed, this is still my only skirt and it’s high waisted to boot, which is not my usual style at all! It has been well over 12 months since I have worn it so I thought it was about time it got another run. It will probably be at least another year before it sees the light of day again. I really just don’t get skirts and dresses, unless of course I’m going to a ball or a wedding! Photo’s today are down by the lake and the resident black swans are photo bombing nicely 🙂 Read on for all the details …
Be Bold In Brights: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 3
Hey there! It’s been a while, but I’m in Melbourne for work again today so I’m featuring an outfit that I wore to work yesterday. If you had told me a year ago that I would be rocking hot pink pants I would have laughed but hey, a lot can change in a year and having this blog is constantly forcing me to step outside my comfort zone. Sydney has been unseasonably hot, reaching tops of 35c so it seemed perfect to go bold on top as well. Cobalt is one of my all time favourite colours and I think it pairs perfectly with pink. After a small taste of summer, Melbourne is treating me to bone-chilling lows of 8c which is why Sydney will always be the better city in my book. Read on for all the details …
Welcome Spring: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 2
Plaid Ankle Pants: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 1
HHappy Hump Day peeps! I’m excited to be hosting the very first Fresh Fashion Forum this week. While it’s sad to have kissed The Wednesday Pants goodbye I’m glad I’ll have a little more flexibility in my outfit posts going forward because there really are no rules here. I will simply be posting an outfit I have worn during the week. First up I’m featuring my favourite pair of plaid pants which have been on high rotation since I bought them in Hawaii on a recent trip. Every time I wear these I get a compliment on them which is lovely. I’ve really enjoyed seeing all of your outfits each week so I hope you will continue to stop by and add your #OOTD’s. The Wednesday Pants – It’s a Wrap
I’m back from Thailand and if you saw last weeks post you will be aware that The Wednesday Pants are no more. They were cut into shorts for the last episode of the series and never made it back Australia. When I started this series a year ago I can honestly say I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I thought it would be easy but it was not! TWP became almost an obsession. I was constantly thinking of new ways to wear them and every item of clothing I perused online or in store was critically appraised to determine how well it would work with these pants. Please join me for a stroll down memory lane as I recap my favourite moments from the last 12 months. Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #52 – Party In Phuket
It’s week fifty two of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) where I feature a different white pants outfit every week for a year. So you know what that means right? The series is officially complete! Done and dusted! I set myself this challenge to wear these pants every week for a year and I have done it! In celebration The Wednesday Pants have become The Wednesday Shorts as I party in Phuket Thailand. The mini enablers are also getting in on the act. Just love these girls!
