While I loved the Melting Wok and Kultur warungs that I recently visited and reviewed, I wanted to try something a little fancier on our last night and Bambu Seminyak was perfect. The setting is romantic and a fine example of blurring the lines between inside and out. Think traditional pergodas, lush plantings and waterways winding through the entire downstairs area. If you are looking for traditional Indonesian fare that is a cut above the rest Bambu Seminyak won’t disappoint. Read on for all the details …

Restaurant Review: Warung Kultur Seminyak Bali
Last week I mentioned that warungs are my favourite places to eat in Bali and this week I want to share another winner. Warung Kultur Seminyak is a delightful family-owned eating house serving delicious authentic Indonesian cuisine in a rustic setting. No trip to Seminyak would be complete without a visit to Kultur. Why You Have To Try The Melting Wok Warung in Ubud Bali
*** UPDATED: June 2018 ***
I first dined at The Melting Wok Ubud in 2016 and I couldn’t stop thinking about their sublime crepes. When I returned to Bali recently it was the first restaurant booking I made. The Melting Wok Warung is a tiny little place that is easy to walk past unless you know where it is but trust me when I say this is one warung you absolutely want to seek out. The Melting Wok Ubud menu is tight but you are sure to find something to tantalise those those taste buds. Read on for all the details …
Frankensteins Laboratory Bali: Rock On Freaks!
I’m always up for a good night out. The perfect night for me involves a few bevvies, some great music and dancing the night away. When I saw Frankensteins Laboratory, I knew it was right up my alley. Having enjoyed our visit to Dracula’s on Queensland’s Gold Coast we had a fair idea what to expect, but being Bali you never know. Read on for all the details …
Rock Bar Jimbaran Bali: The Place to Be
Famous for the view, the Rock Bar Jimbaran Bali is one of the most unique bars in the world. Cut into craggy cliffs the bar is nestled below the swanky Ayana Resort and has been delighting guests for years. Cocktails are the order of the day and the bar list offers something for most. The views at sunset are the star of the show and despite its expansive size tables fill quickly. A hidden secret this is not! Read on for all the details …
Restaurant Review: Bella Italia Legian Bali
Each time I head to Bali I always find it takes a few days for my body clock to adjust to local time. The downside is I often find myself hungry at odd hours so when the cravings hit at 11pm it surprised me that there were very few places still serving. Of course room service was an option at the Magani Hotel but I decided to make it my mission to find some late night bites to include in my epic list of 110+ things to do in Bali. To make my search even more complicated I was craving garlic bread, so now I needed not only to find somewhere open but was going to be picky with menu choices! Regular readers will know that I love TripAdvisor for their honest reviews but one of the great features is they list opening hours which made my search a whole lot easier. I found Bella Italia Legian pretty quickly and the 1am closing time suited my needs perfectly. Read on for all the details …
Hamilton Island Dining On A Budget
Hamilton Island dining has come a long way since we lasted visited over 10 years ago and these days visitors have real options that cover the gamut from takeaway right through to fine dining. Eating out on a budget is tricky but it is possible. Tight menus littered with seafood and duck dominate the scene, neither of which are to my liking but I was still able to find a few options to excite my palette. Read on for all the details …
Restaurant Review: Leis Indonesian Legian Bali
Leis Indonesian Legian is beachfront and we walked past a number of times before taking the plunge and dining. Legian Beach is somewhat lacking in traditional Indonesian fare and Leis seemed like the best of the bunch when we were hankering for some local cuisine. The sunsets across the water are spectacular.
