Lake Conjola NSW: A Hidden Gem

March 6, 2016

Lake Conjola

I bet you have never heard of Lake Conjola right? I’m not surprised! Despite living in Sydney all my life, I only discovered this little gem last year myself. Lake Conjola is about 2 ½ hours drive south of Sydney near Ulladulla and is the perfect place for a weekend escape with a group of friends. It is by no means a bustling metropolis, in fact if you blink you are likely to miss it, but there is a serene beauty to the place that makes it very attractive to those looking to escape the city for a spell. There are plenty of activities of offer for those that want to partake, but the real draw for me is doing not very much at all. Read on for all the details …

Restaurant Review: Black House Burgers Kuta Bali

February 28, 2016

Bali Dining - Black House Burgers Kuta

Who doesn’t love a burger? These simple sandwiches can be absolutely divine if done right. I like my burgers home made and a world away from fast food. We were intrigued by the signature charcoal buns and we had extremely high expectations of Black House Burgers Kuta after they were rated the number 1 of 717 restaurants in Kuta Bali on Trip Advisor after 688 reviews.  Did they stack up? Restaurant Review: Bella Vista Cafe Legian Bali

February 21, 2016

Fash Packing by Sydney Fashion Hunter: Restaurant Review Bella Vista Cafe Legian Bali

We chose Bella Vista Cafe Legian for a simple meal due to the proximity to our hotel and the excellent Trip Advisor ratings. It is #2 in Legian after all! The coffee scene is big even in Bali and Bella Vista pitches to this market but also serves up more substantial plates for lunch and dinner. With a diverse menu there is something to appeal to most. Restaurant Review: Un’s Kuta – A Bali Favourite

February 19, 2016

Fash Packing by Sydney Fashion Hunter - Un's Kuta Steak Au Poive

Un’s Kuta is one of our favorite restaurants in Bali. We discovered it a few years ago and loved that we had stumbled on a hidden gem where we had the dining room almost all to ourselves. Last visit was a lot different. It seems like the masses have cottoned on to our secret place and we had to wait for a table. Despite it’s new found popularity Un’s Kuta hasn’t lost any of it’s charm and the food is as amazing as ever. Read on for all the details …

Restaurant Review: Benno’s Sanur Bali

February 7, 2016

Fash Packing by Sydney Fashion Hunter: Resturant Review Benno's Sanur Bali - Sanur Beach

We had heard good things about Sanur Bali from friends at home so we thought we would pop over for a few hours and check it out before we committed to staying there. Sanur is just a quick cab ride away from Legian and many of the water sports in my epic list of +110 things to do in Bali are in this area. Benno’s Sanur was an off the cuff lunch choice when wandering along the beach path. There are no shortage of restaurants here but most seem to offer the same type of fare. We were hungry, hot and tired and didn’t have the inclination to put much thought into it. Benno’s Sanur Bali seemed like a safe bet given there were already a few diners settled it. I hate walking into an empty restaurant don’t you? Read on for all the details …

Dracula’s Comedy Cabaret Restaurant Review

January 29, 2016

Dracs_ Cast2

You will have no doubt gathered from my previous post that I snagged a long weekend out of the Australia Day holiday on Tuesday and took the opportunity to sneak in a quick break on the Gold Coast with The Hubs. While up North, we were treated to a fabulous night out at Dracula’s Comedy Cabaret Restaurant. Dracula’s is a Gold Coast icon that has been entertaining guests for more than 30 years so you just know they must be doing something right. If you are looking for things to do in Surfers Paradise, you should definitely pencil in a night at Drax. Read on for all the details …

Ultimate Girls Weekend in Melbourne

January 22, 2016

Sydney Fashion Hunter: Girls Weekend In Melbourne - View from 28 Floor Crown Towers

As this post goes live, I’ll be in Surfers Paradise on the sunny Queensland Gold Coast. I promise there will be more about that on the blog later, but today I want to tell you about my recent girls weekend in Melbourne. I travel to Melbourne regularly for work. In fact, I’m down there so often it’s like my second home. The thing with work trips though, is that they tend to be super hectic and you don’t get a lot of time to see much except the office and the hotel. Given I was down last week on a Thursday and Friday, The Enabler flew in so we could make a weekend of it. And boy did we make every single one of those 48 hours count! Read on for all the details …
