Just a normal day in the office today and the weather is starting to warm up nicely so I felt like pastels this week … ♪ ♫ ♩ ♬ singing “Spring is in the Air” to the tune of “Love is in the Air” ♪ ♫ ♩ ♬ … however it’s still a little chilly some mornings so clearly layers are needed peeps! And this outfit is all about the layers. It kinda reveals itself more the more you take off. TWP were almost no more this week because the metal hooks started to rust out! No fear I removed the hooks, ironed on some “repairy” stuff, added new hooks and napisaned the crap out of them to get the rust marks out. A seamstress I am not, it’s super bodgey but they have lived to last another week. Clearly they are not going to last 52 so I’m trying to hunt done a back up pair … Read on to find out what I came up with this week …
The Wednesday Pants #3 – Burgundy & Blue
It’s week three of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP). OK I know it’s early but this week I have dinner after work with my cousin, his lovely wife and The Co-Conspirator at Jamie’s Italian, so I won’t be home until late and I thought it would be better get this up nice and early. Today I needed an outfit that can take me from the office, through post work drinks and on to dinner effortlessly. Sadly not one single one of my on-line purchases from the last two weeks has arrived yet (D’Oh!) so I’m running low on inspo and had to break the cardi ban but what’s a girl to do? Read on to find out what I came up with …
The Wednesday Pants #2 – Loubis & Light Blue
It’s week two of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) and while I am starting to build somewhat of a wardrobe many items are on-line purchases and are yet to arrive so my choices are still very very limited. I was up at 4.30am today to catch a flight to Melbourne and normally I dress for comfort and practicality when I travel for work but I have been banned from wearing a cardi for a few weeks by The Co-Conspirator and I wanted to add a bit of colour so this is what I came up with …
The Wednesday Pants #1 – Monochrome Mood
It’s week one of my new series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) and I’m petrified! Scared that I’m going to fail dismally in the challenge I have set myself. What was I thinking? I’m not a stylist? How can I possibly create 52 different looks with a single pair of white pants? I’m not even sure that the pants will last the distance without turning 50 shades of grey! Napisan is clearly going to be my best friend. This week however, I’m feeling fairly safe because of course as the starting point I am wearing them exactly as I always done. But what about next week, and the week after that, and the week after that … Eeek! Anyhoo here goes …
Introducing The Wednesday Pants …
I have a shameful secret to share … I only have five ‘bottoms’ in my current work wardrobe, four pairs of pants (two black, one white and one grey) and one rather under utilised skirt. When this is all you have to work with each item has to step up to the plate again really really quickly, especially when the skirt is always benched! God only knows what I was thinking when I bought the skirt. There’s nothing wrong with it per se, it’s a classic black knee length pencil skirt from Cue and I did get quite a few compliments the one and only time I wore it but I’m not really a skirt kinda girl. I always have been and I suspect I always will be, much more at home in a pair of pants. I just need to accept this and stop buying skirts and dresses because no matter how good they look in store they will invariably linger unloved on the hanger when I get them home. I don’t even want to think about the money I have wasted over the years! Anyway, I digress … back to the pants that I do actually wear … I work from home on Fridays (often in my PJ’s until at least lunchtime!) so at least I have a pair of pants for each day I spend in the office which eliminates the need for a mid-week wash. There is no science to how the rotation works, it’s generally whatever is closest and clean but for some totally random reason Wednesday is the day that the white pants always seem get a run thus I have dubbed them ‘The Wednesday Pants’ (TWP). Having limited items in my wardrobe and lacking inspiration at 6am in the morning I typically wear TWP in the same monochrome way each week but a few weeks ago something happened that got me thinking that it might be time to shake things up a bit …
