It’s week twenty of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP). I’m posting very early this morning because I’m off to Melbourne again for work today. Who doesn’t love a 4.30am start right? Not! Given the early start these photos were taken on Monday in the backyard – look how beautifully my gum trees are flowering 🙂 I just love my Australian natives! I’m nursing a pulled hamstring due to an ill advised cartwheel on Saturday night, can’t you tell by the awkward stance! I’m very slow and not at all graceful in my heels but never fear I have my thongs in my bag as a back up! I’m seriously crushing on the cut of this top and can you believe it was only $35 from Target??? … Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #19 – Cronulla Beach
It’s week nineteen of my series The Wednesday Pants (TWP) and I am on annual leave … WooHoo!!! Sadly I am not sunning myself on a tropical island but I am absolutely enjoying the time off work. I did have plans today for a girly lunch with The Enabler and her little cherubs but she ditched me at the last minute so Mr SFH had to stand in 🙂 Today we’re dining at my favourite Sydney beach, Cronulla. You’d think the steak was Mr SFH’s but no that was mine lol. I’m styling TWP super casual today in keeping with the setting and feeling very red, white and blue given Australia Day is just around the corner … Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #18 – Sunny Yellow
It’s been a crappy week of weather in Sydney which necessitated taking photos in the rain. While today has been the best day all week so far there is more rain coming our way tomorrow and Friday. The good news is it is expected to clear up for the weekend … Yay! Sooooo what to do when the weather is so unpredictable? Dress in sunny yellow and carry an umbrella at all times! … Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #17 – Lunch @ The Ivy
Don’t you just love summer? Today is my monthly lunch date with The Enabler and Sydney is really turning the weather on so we decided to hit up the Pool Club at The Ivy. I love this place and they have the best pizzas! Given the brilliant weather I wanted to wear something summery in keeping but to be honest the pickings in my closet were pretty slim, however I did mange to pull something together. I will admit it is getting tougher each week! These photos were taken in my backyard after a major zushing trying to get the place ship shape for Xmas. I spent countless hours, weeding, pruning and mulching and it’s looking pretty good if I say so myself. I also included a couple of happy snaps by the pool from our lunch. Mr SFH would not be happy with the quality but hey there is only so much and iPhone can do right? Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #16 – Happy New Year!
Firstly, I must apologise for not posting last week but in my defense it was Christmas Eve! Life was extremely hectic as I was manically preparing for the annual influx of family the following day. In fact the whole month of December has been absolutely crazy and I literally just have not had the time to write. Life will surely soon return to a more normal pace but before I slow down completely its time to tie one on for one last time in 2014. New Years Eve is a pretty big deal in Sydney and is often touted as the biggest party of the year. Being almost a day ahead of most of the world means that I will be among one the first to welcome in 2015 and all eyes (and TV cameras!) will be trained on our beautiful harbour and the circa $4 million of pyrotechnics that will light up the night sky. This year however, I will be celebrating at home with some close friends (including The Enabler, The Co-Conspirator and The Reality Checker plus all their offspring) and a quintessential Aussie BBQ. Mr SFH and I don’t get out much these days on NYE given our dog is not a big fan (massive understatement!!!) of fireworks and we really just can’t leave him at home alone or he will destroy the place. He is a staffie and has done it before so we have good reason to be cautious! So what did I come up with for TWP as we say goodbye to 2014 and welcome 2015? I’m keeping it simple for a relaxed backyard do but couldn’t resist adding some sparkles for the last day of #DAREcember with Fox In Flats. Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #15 – Blue Polka Dots
As I sit here to write this post very late on Wednesday night (in fact Thursday morning!) I’m struggling to find the right words to describe a very emotional week. I have written and rewritten this introduction countless times and yet the words simply seem insufficient. The world’s attention has been focused on my beloved home town of Sydney under the most tragic of circumstances as one man brought this beautiful city to a grinding halt early on Monday morning. Tragically the siege ended 16 hours later with the loss of two innocent lives. Sydneysiders are resilient and this week we have shown the world what we are truly made of. I cannot be more proud of how we have come together as a city and indeed a nation to spread love not hate in the wake of this tragedy. The events of this week will not destroy us but rather it will make us stronger. We will get past this but we will never forget. With all this going on the last thing on my mind was TWP. When I woke up this morning after only a few hours sleep I had no outfit planned and no idea what I was going to wear. So while this is probably not my best effort, the outfit was literally pulled together in 10 mins in a rush to get ready for work and the photos were taken after 11pm at night after a very long day so they are a bit crap to be honest. I hope you will understand. Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #14 – Zebra on Zebra
This week the pressure is on to come up with something a little bit out of the box. Read on for all the details …
The Wednesday Pants #13 – Window Pane
I was sure stuck for inspiration this week! I was trying to pick something practical to beat the heat on what was predicted to be a very hot day in Sydney. My options for tops that cover my arm tattoo with only one layer are pretty light on so I’m making do the best I can. When all else fails resort to monochrome I say. Read on for all the details …
