Hamilton Island dining has come a long way since we lasted visited over 10 years ago and these days visitors have real options that cover the gamut from takeaway right through to fine dining. Eating out on a budget is tricky but it is possible. Tight menus littered with seafood and duck dominate the scene, neither of which are to my liking but I was still able to find a few options to excite my palette. Read on for all the details …

Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island Review
Hamilton Island. If the very name conjures images in your head of exclusive resorts populated by genetically blessed folks quaffing Moet beside private pools with expansive ocean views, you could be forgiven for thinking HI might be out of your budget. HI certainly has options for those with money to burn, but trust me, you don’t need to be Ritchie Rich to enjoy this stunning tropical paradise. While it’s not a budget destination, you can secure a bed for the night that won’t leave you destitute. The Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island offer a very comfortable home away from home that will leave enough dollars left over to explore everything Queensland’s world-famous Whitsundays has to offer. Sunshine Coast Long Weekend Suggested Guide
A few weeks back I spend a girly long weekend in Queensland. Our Sunshine Coast long weekend was exactly what the doctor ordered and I’m not sure who needed it most; me or The Co-Conspirator! We spent 72 hours on the ground and made every one count. If you are planning some time on the Sunny Coast, my suggested itinerary is a great place to start your planning. Fabulous Cheap Eats On The Sunshine Coast
Eating out three times a day when you are away from home can really eat into your travel budget. Dining in the Sunshine Coast is a delight but it can be expensive. I’m not the type to drop $360 on a steak but I don’t want to eat off the value menu at Macca’s every day either. Before I headed north recently for my girly weekend, I did my research and found lots of fabulous cheap eats on the sunshine coast that will fill your tummy without breaking the bank. A Surprisingly Cool Weekend In Canberra
I know what you are thinking. Why visit Canberra? It’s been more than a decade since I last visited Australia’s Capital City and Canberra’s reputation as a sleepy, slightly backward town filled with politicians where nothing happens was firmly etched in my psyche, so shaking that perception was a tall order. Let’s just say I was less than receptive when the hubs first suggested a weekend in Canberra. I mean Canberra? What were we going to do for two days that could rival what Sydney offers? Well not only did I visit Canberra but I was suitably impressed. Canberra is a city shaking off its daggy reputation and reinventing itself to emerge as a sophisticated, cosmopolitan city where there is much to love. So leave your perceptions behind and come explore the wide variety of things to do in Canberra with me …
Sunshine Coast: Novotel Twin Waters Review
Recently The Co-Conspirator and I spent a long weekend on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. The Sunshine Coast’s 460klm2 covers localities such as Noosa, Mooloolaba, Caloundra and Maroochydore, so choosing just one place to stay was tough. As always, I started my search on Expedia where 461 hotels had availability and were vying for my tourist dollar. Sheesh! After an arduous process of elimination we selected the Novotel Twin Waters Resort based on the trifecta of location, facilities and value. If you are heading to the Sunshine Coast, my Novotel Twin Waters Review is a must read before you book. Read on for all the details …
Sunshine Coast Markets: 17 Of The Best
I love a market. There is something magical about wandering around in the sunshine and discovering new, exciting and unique items that you simply can’t find in the soulless mega malls. I try to visit a local market every time I travel. Besides being a whole lot of fun, it really gives you a feel for the place given that most are frequented by the locals just as often as the tourists. You would be mad not to visit one (or more!) of the many Sunshine Coast Markets if you find yourself in this beautiful part of the world. Visitors are spoiled for choice and when I started researching I found more than 25 Sunshine Coasts Markets not too far from where we were staying. If you are only in town for a few days like I was, you are not going to be able to visit them all, so choose wisely. Read on for all the details …
