I’m back in Melbourne and posting early today as I have a bit to do tonight and I’m not sure I’ll have the time! My thoughts are with all those in my home town (Mr SFH included!) that have been affected by Sydney’s wild weather over the last two days. Stay safe people! The Melbourne weather is not great either but luckily for me I don’t have to spend too much time in the elements because I have a work offsite today right underneath the Crown Towers where I’m staying so I can pretty much cocoon myself in air conditioned comfort, except for brief interludes outside, (read smoke breaks!) where the coat will go on. The dress code for the event is ‘Business Casual’ which means I’ve had to come up with something a little different for TWP and I think pairing them with a fun pair flats is the perfect solution. I feel like I’m channeling “Where’s Wally” a little this week with the stripes ‘n’ all. Given the nod towards the masculine bent (not that Wally was that macho!), I’ve raided Mr SFH’s wardrobe again this week. The mini enablers have deemed him to be ‘fashion’ (high praise indeed from a 5yo and 8yo!) so why not? I daresay it won’t be the last time 🙂 … Read on to find out what I came up with this week …
This week I wore …
- Black Woolen Coat – From David Jones a million years ago (probably more like 10 but who’s counting?). It’s a bit big but it will do. It’s pretty much one of the only things I saved from my old wardrobe from a time where I was clearly much thinner than at my largest and thought the day would come when I could get back into it again.
- Supre Striped Tank – Have I mentioned how much I love the cut of these tanks and at $12 – $15 a pop you can afford to buy heaps 🙂 First ever time waering stripes and god forbid they are horizontal! Something I used to avoid like the plague when I was bigger. While I am branching out I think the cute peek under the cardi is enough for now. Baby steps people!
- SES Fashions Black Cardigan – I’m wearing it a different way. I’ve never wear it buttoned!
- Cue Patent Black Leather Belt – From a few years ago and a staple you’ve seen on these pages before.
- Shoes of Prey Black Glitter Ballet Flats – Who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle in their life? I designed these myself and they are super comfy. These are usually my weekend kicks. I NEVER wear flats to work but today is an exception as they are perfectly suited to the more casual look. There are literally thousands of possibilities so let your imagination go wild!. A home grown Aussie company with very reasonable prices who ship worldwide! #Winner
- Coach Bag – Purchased in Las Vegas with Mr SFH the last time we were there (October 2012). It’s just so damn cute and adds a pop of colour to a monochrome outfit. Highly impractical cos it’s fits virtually nothing in it but luckily I’m offsite today and don’t need to carry all the usual paraphernalia I would normally tote to the office.
- Mr SFH’s Nixon Watch – Purchased in Hawaii a couple of years ago at a massive discount. Hubby loves a Nixon watch and has a few. This one is my favourite. I had a couple of links taken out to wear it today which i have promised to put back quick smart when I’m done. Boy is it heavy! Still for sale but doesn’t seem to be available on line.
- Pearl Choker – Perfectly casual 🙂
- Diva Bangle – Old. I was sort of going for an improvised double cuff look with the chunky watch on the other side. No longer available as all Diva Australia stores have shut down or changed to Lovisa. I did spot some still open in Bali when I was there in August though.
- Georg Jenson Butterfly Ring – No secret I love a chunky silver ring. This one is a bit more casual so perfect for today 🙂
- White Gold Thumb Ring – An Old Xmas pressie from Martins Jewellers Liverpool.
- Lovisa Hoop Earrings – I’m wearing the biggest ones!
- Scent of the Day – Coco Chanel Mademoiselle
Until Next Time …
Happy Hunting

P.S. I had to stage the photos at home on the Sunday before I left because I don’t really have anyone I can get to take piccies in Melbourne. Here are a couple of ‘on-site’ ones just so you know I’m actually wearing it all 🙂
Until Next Time …
Happy Hunting!
