There are 165 Nusa Lembongan restaurants according to Trip Advisor. Given Nusa Lembongan is only about 8 square kilometres, that’s just over 20 restaurants per square kilometre. Sadly our three days on the island didn’t allow us to sample as many restaurants in Nusa Lembongan as we would have liked and choosing was quite a challenge. I’ve been to Bali many times, but until 2017 I had never ventured to the nearby islands. After reading so many wonderful articles on Nusa Lembongan and the Gili Islands, I knew I simply had to visit. After researching all the options we chose Scoot Fast Cruises to get us there. We knew we wanted a fast boat to Lembongan and Scoot seemed to have the best online reviews. I’ve been to Bali many times but it’s usually just The Hubs and I. This trip we were a group of eleven and eight of us decided to head to Canggu for the day. Even thought it’s not an area I’m overly familiar with, as the designated ‘Bali expert’ the group still looked to me for guidance. Especially on where to have lunch. So what does a girl do when she is under pressure to find a Canggu restaurant to please four picky kids, three die-hard meat eaters and a vegan? Google of course. After researching all the options I decided on The Shady Shack Canggu Cafe but my carefully laid plans were thrown into disarray when we arrived to find it closed for the day!
