Longline Cardigan: Fresh Fashion LinkUp 17

January 27, 2016

FFF#17 Sitting
Hello! It’s Fresh Fashion Forum time again. I’ve just returned home from a long weekend on the Gold Coast with The Hubs in honour of my birthday, which I celebrated yesterday. Lucky for me, my birthday falls on Australia Day which means I never have to work on my big day. I took full advantage of the Tuesday public holiday by booking annual leave on the Friday and Monday and turning it into a 5 day weekend. Today’s location is Cedar Creek Falls, Mount Tambourine in the Gold Coast hinterland. I have been to Surfers Paradise many, many time but I have never ventured inland until now. Cedar Creek Falls is absolutely stunning with beautiful falls cascading into natural pools which scream out to be swum in. This sort of location calls for a very casual outfit and I chose my new Forever New grey longline cardigan. Read on for all the details …

I packed extremely light and in about 15 minutes flat so when I got up north it was inevitable that I would discover how many things I actually left at home. Thankfully, I threw this cardigan in at the very last minute. Even though it is Summer and temps of 30c+ are common, it was a little cooler in the mountains and this as just warm enough to keep the chill at bay. And don’t you just love the subtle dove grey colour? This cardigan is so versatile, you could wear this with almost anything, but I particularly like it with shorts given the contrasting hemlines. There was a fair amount of walking to the lookouts and the swimming pools and you would be right if you are thinking that thongs were not exactly the best choice of footwear, but alas a good pair of walking shoes was one of the things that somehow never made it into my bag. I couldn’t resist sneaking in the pic of the rather large Goanna we came across while walking. These guys might look cute, but they have a nasty bite so this was as close as I wanted to get. He wasn’t too keen on getting too close to us either!
