Mid City Motel Warrnambool Review

November 25, 2016

Fash Packing by SFH: Mid City Motel Warrnambool

It has been years since I’ve stayed in a motel. I’ll admit to purposefully avoiding them as they have a reputation of being fairly low down on the accommodation spectrum, placed somewhere just above a grungy backpackers. While accommodation in Warrnambool is plentiful, 4 star hotels are distinctly light on and overpriced, so we were forced to rethink our choices. We booked the Mid City Motel Warrnambool with trepidation but I’m thrilled to say they exceeded all our expectations. Read on for all the details …

Vibe Savoy Melbourne Hotel Review

November 4, 2016

Fash Packing by SFH: Vibe Savoy Melbourne Hotel Review - Lobby

At the end of September we found ourselves in Melbourne in the midst of a city consumed with AFL grand final fever. It wasn’t on purpose. I booked the flights well in advance and failed to check the football calendar. D’Oh! To add insult to injury I missed watching my beloved Sharks win their first ever NRL grand final back home in Sydney. While I was devastated to miss it, we tried to make the most of our short stay in Melbourne. The downside for us was that we had to compete for accommodation with the thousands of sports fans who descended on the city for the big game. Not surprisingly, many hotels opportunistically increased their prices significantly to match the sky-high demand but I’m thrilled to say that The Vibe Savoy Melbourne was not one of them. In fact, the Vibe did pretty much everything right by us and I struggled to fault them. My Vibe Savoy Melbourne hotel review will help you determine if this is the place for you when you are next in town. Read on for all the details …

Fash Packing by Sydney Fashion Hunter: Sheraton Waikiki Review - Exterior From Beach

There are certain hotels along world famous Waikiki beach that every traveller invariably considers while choosing accommodation and the Sheraton Waikiki is almost certainly one of those. The 4 star Sheraton Waikiki is not a budget option by any means, but it is always bursting at the seams and is highly rated on Trip Advisor so it must be doing something right. I recently stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki and am sharing my thoughts so you can decide if this is the Waikiki hotel for you. Read on for all the details …

Magani Hotel Bali: An Oasis Amid Legian Chaos

July 22, 2016

Sydney Fashion Hunter: The Magani Hotel Bali Review - Main Pool

When you land in Bali the heat and humidity hit you like a tonne of bricks the moment the aircraft door is opened. You are left in no doubt that you are in the tropics but that’s what you came for right? To enjoy some time in the sun in a beautiful setting. But you do occasionally need a reprieve from the chaos that is every present in the streets. The most critical element, which can make or break your trip, is the accommodation you choose. Ideally this will be an oasis of calm where you can truly relax. Finding the perfect home away from home often involves being torn between the luxury you crave and the dollars you want to part with. The Magani Hotel Bali solves that problem nicely. Read on for all the details …

Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island Review

June 19, 2016

Sydney Fashion Hunter: Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island Review - Building

Hamilton Island. If the very name conjures images in your head of exclusive resorts populated by genetically blessed folks quaffing Moet beside private pools with expansive ocean views, you could be forgiven for thinking HI might be out of your budget. HI certainly has options for those with money to burn, but trust me, you don’t need to be Ritchie Rich to enjoy this stunning tropical paradise. While it’s not a budget destination, you can secure a bed for the night that won’t leave you destitute. The Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island offer a very comfortable home away from home that will leave enough dollars left over to explore everything Queensland’s world-famous Whitsundays has to offer. Sunshine Coast: Novotel Twin Waters Review

May 6, 2016

Sydney Fashion Hunter: Novotel Twin Waters Review - Aerial

Recently The Co-Conspirator and I spent a long weekend on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. The Sunshine Coast’s 460klm2 covers localities such as Noosa, Mooloolaba, Caloundra and Maroochydore, so choosing just one place to stay was tough. As always, I started my search on Expedia where 461 hotels had availability and were vying for my tourist dollar. Sheesh! After an arduous process of elimination we selected the Novotel Twin Waters Resort based on the trifecta of location, facilities and value. If you are heading to the Sunshine Coast, my Novotel Twin Waters Review is a must read before you book. Read on for all the details …

Novotel Canberra: Escape To The Capital

April 1, 2016

Sydney Fashion Hunter: Novotel Canberra Room

The Hubs and I recently spent a long weekend in Canberra. Why Canberra? Well, The Hubs had a rare weekend off from his grueling roster and he wanted to escape on his beloved BMW two wheeler (more about that in my Biker Chick post here). The maximum amount of time that I can stand sitting on the back of the bike is 2½ hours so we stuck a compass in Sydney and looked at every place within the allotted radius. We discovered we had been to the vast majority of places within our search area and nothing appealed quite as much as Canberra for a return visit. When we discovered that our visit coincided with Enlighten Canberra it sealed the deal. It’s been more than a decade since we have been to Australia’s capital so we made sure we did our research on Agoda before choosing the Novotel Canberra as our home away from home for the two nights. Crown Towers Melbourne Deluxe Villa Review

November 13, 2015

Fash Packing by Sydney Fashion Hunter: Crown Towers Melbourne Deluxe Villa Review

Regular readers will know that I visit Melbourne frequently for business, in fact, I’m down there so often I am practically a local (read about my ultimate girls weekend here). Well, maybe not, but I have been enough times (roughly 100!) to have well and truly decided on my favourite place to stay. Last visit I was lucky enough to experience the opulent luxury of a Crown Towers Melbourne Deluxe Villa. Crown Towers caters to the discerning traveler and regardless of whether you are visiting for business or leisure, I just know you will love this hotel as much as I do. Read on for all the details …
