Park Hyatt Siem Reap: Old Meets New At this Siem Reap Luxury Hotel

October 1, 2018

A grand entrance for the best hotel in Siem Reap @ Park Hyatt

Every now and then a hotel comes along that completely blows your mind. If you are lucky, it happens more than once in a lifetime. My latest amazing find is the Park Hyatt Siem Reap Resort Hotel. When I was looking for the best hotel in Siem Reap, the Park Hyatt Hotel Siem Reap wasn’t the only luxury hotel in Siem Reap on my short list, but it was the only one in the best area to stay in Siem Reap. They do say location is everything and it certainly sealed the deal for me. The Park Hyatt is a 5 star hotel in Siem Reap that offers multiple accommodation options including decadent suites with private plunge pools. The service at the Park Hyatt is exceptional and the facilities are top-notch. The Park Hyatt Siem Reap restaurant serves a traditional Siem Reap breakfast alongside the more familiar western options and dinner is a treat not to be missed. If you are looking for an outstanding Siem Reap luxury hotel, read on for all the details …

Fair Warung Bale Ubud: Good Food & Good Feels In Bali

September 18, 2018

Fair Warung Bale Bali Tuna Steak

As a frequent traveller to Bali, I feel very privileged to be welcomed so often to The Island of the Gods. Bali is a tourist mecca whose stunning natural beauty, spectacular beaches and rich history draw visitors in droves. With a plethora of luxury 5 star resorts, upmarket bars and swanky restaurants, it’s easy to forget that Indonesia is a developing country. While tourists enjoy the spoils, many locals live below the poverty line and don’t have access to basic medical care. But one restaurant is looking to change that. Fair Warung Bale Ubud is tiny eatery using the tourist dollar to help those that need it most. On your next visit to Ubud, be sure to treat your taste buds to the extensive Fair Warung Bale menu and give back to the local community at the same time. Read on for all the details of Fair Warung Bale Bali …

Searching For The Best Gili Trawangan Villas? Try Villa Nero

September 3, 2018

Tropical gardens at our Gili Trawangan Villas

Wondering where to stay in Gili Trawangan? You are in the right place. Not so long ago I was in exactly the same predicament. I did a lot of research on the best place to stay in Gili Trawangan before deciding on Villa Nero Gili Trawangan. You might think that Gili Trawangan villas are plentiful, but you would be wrong. On closer inspection it seems Gili Trawangan accommodation favours the backpacker set. Sure an ancient budget bunk was fine in my 20’s, but for this trip I was interested in modern up-spec Gili Island villas. I know that the Gilis are popular with the younger crowd but surely us oldies aren’t completely excluded? I was close to giving up hope of finding any Gili T villas to meet both my standards and my budget when I stumbled across Nero Villa Gili Trawangan. Chuffed with my find, I booked without hesitation. Scoot Fast Cruises: Tempting Death On The Fast Boat To Gili Trawangan

August 3, 2018

Scoot Fast Cruises fast boat Bali to Gili

I’ve been to Bali many times, but until 2017 I had never ventured to the nearby islands. After reading so many wonderful articles on Nusa Lembongan and the Gili Islands, I knew I simply had to visit. After researching all the options we chose Scoot Fast Cruises to get us there. We knew we wanted a fast boat to Lembongan and Scoot seemed to have the best online reviews. Scoot’s Sanur to Nusa Lembongan sailings were also the most compatible with our schedule. Deal done! We also travelled with Scoot on the fast boat to Gili Trawangan and then back to Bali. Our experience on the fast boat Bali to Gili Islands went without a hitch until our last leg. That’s when all hell broke loose on the Lombok Strait. Read on for all the details …

The Loft Canggu Cafe: A Canggu Restaurant To Please Everyone (Even Vegans!)

July 14, 2018

The Loft Canggu - Shake

I’ve been to Bali many times but it’s usually just The Hubs and I. This trip we were a group of eleven and eight of us decided to head to Canggu for the day. Even thought it’s not an area I’m overly familiar with, as the designated ‘Bali expert’ the group still looked to me for guidance. Especially on where to have lunch. So what does a girl do when she is under pressure to find a Canggu restaurant to please four picky kids, three die-hard meat eaters and a vegan? Google of course. After researching all the options I decided on The Shady Shack Canggu Cafe but my carefully laid plans were thrown into disarray when we arrived to find it closed for the day! I hadn’t factored in Galungan which was a serious rookie mistake! I jumped on my phone to start the search again and found The Loft Canggu. The menu seemed to tick all our boxes and best of all, it was open! Thank you Google! Read on for all the details …

Skyjet Airlines Philippines From Manila to Boracay Caticlan MNL-MPH

April 2, 2018

Skyjet Airlines Philippines BAE 146 on the tarmac at Manila NAIA almost ready for take off to Boracay Caticlan

Getting to Boracay is a little tricky, but this tiny slice of paradise in the Philippines is absolutely worth the effort. The first step is to decide which airport to fly into; Boracay Caticlan or Kalibo. The Manila Boracay route is frequented by multiple airlines and flights from Manila to Caticlan are typically faster but more expensive than flights to Kalibo. Of course we decided on Caticlan. Once in Caticlan the next step is to navigate from Caticlan airport to Boracay Island. I found that Skyjet Airlines Philippines had the quickest flight time from Manila to Boracay. Add a private speed boat from Caticlan to Boracay Island and you have the fastest way to get from Manila to Boracay. If you want to spend more time relaxing than travelling on your next trip to Boracay read on for all the details …
