If you are a keen watcher of my side bar you will know that I just spent the long weekend in Melbourne and the Great Ocean Rd. While I was in town I was lucky enough to be invited to a colleagues birthday drinks and I wore this ruby lace dress from Express. I gotta tell you I was freezing! As I was getting dressed in the hotel The Hubs expressed his scorn on my outfit choice with a chuckle given the weather so of course I couldn’t back down. I did throw on a trench but it did little to fight the bitter wind and bare legs was not my smartest choice. Read on for all the details …
Let’s Get Social!
First things first! Last week I was wearing black, white and blue in honour of my beloved Sharks making the NRL grand final and I promised I would report back with the result. Well in case you live under a rock, or you know, not in Sydney, I am ecstatic to advise that the Sharkies brought it home! Let’s just say there was screaming, shouting, tears, and ecstasy on Sunday night in my world. Of and of course wine 🙂 It has been 49 years coming and if we never win another we will always have 2016.
Express Ruby Lace Dress
There is an intense rivalry between Sydney Siders and Melbournians about who has the better city. I am not biased in the slightest but I think these photos clear it up once and for all. In the background you can see the ‘beautiful’ Yarra river that is essentially Melbourne’s answer to our magnificent harbour (featured here). You be the judge. I picked up the ruby lace dress when I was in Hawaii recently. I didn’t even want to try it on as I feared it would be way to clingy but The Hubs convinced me. A price tag of only $70 saw it hit my bag in a flash.
